Excellent idea, definitely very useful! However, I wish there were more settings such as changing the colour of the announcement banner from simply black as it may not work well with all themes. But definitely worth getting!

I love it. No one can miss the announcement! I would suggest adding a way to open a link in a different tab.

A suggestion would be to enable changing of the background colour of the announcement box and the colour of the text - I have many themes that the black box doesn't really work for, and if you could enable customization of the colours, that would be great! Otherwise, you've done a fantastic job with this. Keep up the good work!

I love this plugin! I'm using it instead of the teeny tiny news thing that's provided with the standard forum. It's so highly visible members can't miss seeing it and the print is big enough for everyone to read without straining their eyes. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get it to appear on my forum, but once I did I found the rest of the operation - setting and changing messages - is so easy anyone can do it.
